the Album
DJ Tokzen christened Lloyd
Dumisani Ncuthe was born and bred in
the streets of Zone 4, Diepkloof in
Soweto. As they say the rest
is His-story. Mmthis Essential
Selection 3 is on the step of the
ever succesful Mmthis Essential
Selection 1 & 2. This year sees
another killer rendition of
carefully selected house tunes that
are sexy, mind-blowing, summer vibey
and definitely a must have for this
New year. The album kicks off with a
tune by Directions, Busted Trees, a
sexy groove that has a kicking
bassline and the vocalist does
justice to this track. You can
imagine yourself driving to Durban,
even if you haven’t been on the
drivers seat before. It truly takes
your mind on a journey that has
never been traveled in a while. A
true must have. The mixing on this
album is accurate and spot on, and
leaves the listener with inquisitive
questions on the particular mixing
that DJ Tokzen used. Brilliant one.

comes in by Peter & Tyrone
presenting the sexy, gravelly voice
of Lady Alma, the track, Gimme That
Music. Another kicking-laid-back
tune with strings that would
mesmerize your mind. Remember
Harrison Crump’s “I Need Your
Love”? This is one tune that made
South Africa get down last year.
